This programme is safely designed for pre natal women and will offer numerous benefits for both the mother and the baby, including improved physical health, reduced risks of complications, and a better overall experience during pregnancy and childbirth. They can also help with postpartum recovery.
Each workout will be led by Leigh who is filming these workouts being pregnant herself.
The workouts are only 30 minutes each and will be a combination of band work, weights and Pilates to really compliment the body for its growing baby/babies.
Here's a more detailed look at the reasons to consider a pregnancy workout program:
Benefits for the Mother:
Improved physical health: Exercise helps maintain a healthy weight, strengthens muscles (including pelvic floor muscles), and improves cardiovascular health.
Improved Circulation: Exercise enhances blood flow, which is vital for delivering oxygen and nutrients to the baby and removing waste products.
Reduced pregnancy discomfort: Regular exercise can ease back pain, reduce swelling, improve sleep, and manage constipation.
Lower risk of complications: Exercise can reduce the risk of gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, and other pregnancy complications.
Improved mental wellbeing: Exercise can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, and boost mood.
Better preparation for labour: Exercise strengthens muscles and improves stamina, which can be beneficial during labour.
Quicker postpartum recovery: Being active during pregnancy can help with a faster recovery after childbirth.
Weight management: Exercise can help manage weight gain during pregnancy and aid in postpartum weight loss.
Benefits for the Baby:
Reduced risk of preterm birth and low birth weight: Exercise can help reduce the risk of preterm birth and the baby being born with a low birth weight.
Potential for improved cognitive function and intelligence: Some studies suggest that exercise during pregnancy may have a positive impact on the baby's cognitive function and intelligence later in life.
Improved fetal health: Exercise can improve blood flow to the uterus and may reduce the risk of neonatal macrosomia (a baby being born larger than average).
